Wine Room Door in Florida: 3 Lite Steel French Door
A wine room door that puts the collection on display
This Florida wine room was built to be seen from the main living area, and the door is part of the view. A single-swing 3 Lite Interior Steel French Door from our Modern Line holds three horizontal panes of clear tempered glass in a matte black frame, so the stacked-stone accent wall and the LED-lit bottle racks behind it stay on show.
Amy needed something sturdy for a wine room — her words. The frame is powder-coated carbon steel, 1.57 in (40 mm), the glass is 5 mm tempered, and a magnetic closure holds the door shut quietly. There is no lock on this one.
A note on what this door is and is not: our interior French doors use single-pane tempered glass, made to show a collection and give the room its own space, not to insulate an actively chilled cellar. For a display wine room off the living area, as here, that is exactly the brief; if your cellar is refrigerated, tell us before you order.
The 3 Lite is made to order in 14–16 weeks in any single-door size from 24 to 54 inches wide and 78 to 108 inches tall, with clear, frosted, gray or ribbed glass. Amy's review is below; for the same Modern Line grid in a kitchen, see the 4 Lite pantry door in North Carolina.

Good to know
What glass is used for a wine room door?
Clear tempered glass, 5 mm (0.20 in), so the bottles show; frosted, gray or ribbed glass are options on the same door if the room should stay private.
Does a wine room door need to be insulated?
Our interior French doors are single-pane tempered glass, not insulated units — right for a display wine room off the living area; a wine cellar door for an actively chilled cellar is a different brief, so ask us first.
Is a steel French door sturdy enough for a wine room?
Amy chose it for that reason: a powder-coated carbon steel frame with tempered glass and a magnetic closure that holds it shut quietly.
This door is even more stunning than I imagined. It is for a wine room so I needed something somewhat sturdy. It was also at a great price point.
