Pantry Door in North Carolina: 4 Lite Steel French Door
A pantry door that keeps the kitchen open
In this North Carolina kitchen the pantry door is part of the design rather than something to hide. A single 4 Lite Interior Steel French Door from our Modern Line stands between the sage tile wall and the green cabinets, its matte black frame dividing four equal panes of clear tempered glass.
Clear glass was the choice here: the shelves stay visible, the kitchen keeps its open feel, and the pantry borrows light from the room. With four panes instead of six or eight, the Modern Line grid is the quieter one — fewer steel lines across the glass, more view through it. The slim magnetic latch closes quietly, which matters in a kitchen that sees traffic all day.
The door was picked up rather than delivered, and Mike had questions during installation — his review below is about how those were answered. The 4 Lite is made to order in 14–16 weeks, in single-door sizes from 24 to 54 inches wide and 78 to 108 inches tall, with clear, frosted, gray or ribbed glass and a handle with or without a lock. Good to know
Clear or frosted glass for a pantry door?
Clear, as here, when the shelves are tidy and the kitchen should stay open; frosted when the pantry should disappear — compare the frosted pantry door in Ohio.
What size is a pantry door?
This 4 Lite single door is made to order from 24 to 54 inches wide and 78 to 108 inches tall, frame included, so it covers a narrow pantry opening as well as a full doorway.
Does a glass pantry door let light into the pantry?
Yes — clear tempered glass passes kitchen light straight into the pantry; frosted glass passes diffused light while hiding the shelves.
Reasonably priced for great quality. Very responsive to questions after the door was picked up and during the installation process.
